my dream best friend.

Part of the appeal of the female celebs we all love, is that we all are first to declare--

IF SHE KNEW ME, WE WOULD BE BEST FRIENDS.

Mindy Kaling? DUH.

J. Law? No Brainer.

T.Swift? #squadgoals to the max. count me in for your next video.

It'll likely never happen but we need everyone to know what level of cool we are on.

Another one at the top of my celeb bff list is my girl Anna Kendrick. After seeing her in Pitch Perfect 2 last weekend, where she totally #crushedit {in the words of Fat Amy}-- I was reminded once again was a bad ass pitch she is. Okay I'm done, the puns will stop now.

Amazing singer, incredible actress, professional lip syncer (yes I was there for that episode of #LipSyncBattle and yes she's that tiny in real life), and above all hilarious tweeter.

Here are some my favorite tweets because it seems Anna Kendrick just really gets me.

If you don't follow her on Twitter- do so right MEOW.

oh and follow me too because Anna and I are basically besties and I'm hysterical.

HOW DARE YOU?

So it's fair to say that Mindy Kaling is a personal hero of mine. My blog only has a handful of posts and she's referenced in at least a third of them. After her book came out she became widely popular but I'd like to note that I've loved her since The Office.

One of my favorite Kelly Kapoor moments came in season 4 when her on-again off-again bf Ryan returns to Scranton with his fancy new corporate job and pretends she doesn't even exist.  So when he asks if anyone has anyone questions, she uttered these powerful words- How Dare You?

Now 4 years later on The Mindy Project, Mindy has continued to use the dramatic and hilariously phrase. Which leads to me my weekly rant where I get to air some of my grievances asking the simple question, a la Mindy, How dare you?

- to all slow walking people on the streets of New York, especially those who feel the need to take up the whole side walk

 - when cab drivers that take you through Times Square

- people who think their time is more valuable than yours

- people who just "don't really watch tv" [I just don't understand that]

- Brunches that aren't bottomless

Have something to get off your chest or someone you are dying to tell off? Share your "how dare you?" moments in the comments.

--hope everyone survives the rest of this week--

man crush monday

#MCM. We've all seen it on Instagram, Twitter, etc. Whether it's our friends with boyfriends who post every week- we get it you're in love, whatever. Or, it's the single ladies {thanks Bey for making this cool} like myself who may or may not post a picture of shirtless Zac Efron or a scruffy Jimmy Fallon every once in a while. Either way it's a post dedicated to that special person whose caught your eye whether they know you exist or not.

So I've decided to dedicate a weekly post to my favorite on-screen fellas and their actor counter parts. From leading men, to adorable side kicks, they've all greatly raised the expectations for my future love interests to inevitably fail to meet.

My first choice is a no-brainer.

Daniel Castellano.

Starting off as a lovable jerk, he's turned into a smoking hot kermudgen who has some sick dance moves and wears adorable red reading glasses. His relationship with Mindy this season has been hilarious to watch-- here's to hoping there isn't another breakup in the near future.

But let's just let Danny speak for himself.

Thank you Mindy Kaling. Just thank you.

Everyone should watch The Mindy Project Tuesdays at 9:30 on Fox. Do it and thank me later.

ps- Chris Messina isn't so bad himself-- check him out in some awesome indies, Celeste and Jesse Forever, The Giant Mechanical Man, and Ira & Abby.

triple threat

I read a book last Christmas called "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me (And Other Concerns)" that changed my life.  Okay, that might be is a dramatic overstatement but it was a seriously hilarious and inspiring book.  The book is the story of Mindy Kaling who I believe is the ultimate triple threat.  Now in the entertainment world most people consider a triple threat to be someone who can act, dance and sing but I think that's overrated! There are tons of talented people out there that can do all those things and they are probably all trying to be on Glee.

Mindy Kaling is the smart, funny, cool girl version of a triple threat as a talented actor, writer, and producer. Although she has had some small parts in big movies (No Strings Attached, Five Year Engagement), she got her "big break" in the industry as a writer on this little show called The Office.  Many people who watch the show might know her as Kelly Kapoor, the office's gossip and overall chatterbox, but she also is a writer, producer and sometimes director of the show as well.  As Kelly Kapoor, who was mainly a background character, Kaling was often a scene stealer in her 8 seasons on the show (I desperately hope she returns for this years final season to say goodbye).  More recently, Kaling can be seen on The Mindy Project, a new show on Fox that she created, stars in and often writes for. The Mindy Project is one of my favorite new shows, not only because Kaling is great in it but it shows a strong female lead that maybe doesn't know exactly what she's doing all the time but either way she is confident and extremely likable.

I 1000% think all girls should read her book.  She is honest, open and absolutely hysterical.  She talks about a lot of subjects that women might struggle with and writes in such a relatable tone.  After reading this book, I immediately wanted to be her friend as I do most of the funny women in Hollywood, i.e. Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig, etc.  The thing that attracts me to these women is that they never apologize for being exactly who they are, flaws and all.  Obviously it's just a book and I don't know her personally but either way it gives me hope that maybe if I keep plugging away I can make it in the entertainment industry too, on my own terms.

The Mindy Project comes on Tuesdays on FOX at 9:30 after The New Girl.  Everyone should watch these two shows.
